Importing Goods from China to African Markets

Importing involves more than buying a product: specification, supplier selection, payment terms, quality, documentation, freight and customs clearance all need to line up. Huckster helps you organise each stage.

The stages of an import

  • Specification and sourcing — agreeing exactly what is being bought and from whom.
  • Commercial terms — price, payment milestones, Incoterms and lead time.
  • Quality — samples and inspections before goods leave the factory, where agreed.
  • Documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, certificates where required.
  • Freight and clearance — transport to the destination port and customs clearance through appropriately licensed providers.

Import rules, duties and required documents differ by country and product, and they change. We confirm the requirements for your destination when we review your request.
